Girl’s lacrosse plays host to Rancocas Valley today at 3:45pm in a BCSL contest. The Pirates are 5-2 on the year and are fresh off a victory over Pennsauken. This is our game coverage for the day, which makes it our Gameday Focus.

When: Friday, April 15 at 3:45pm

Where: Cinnaminson

Cinnaminson: 5-2

Rancocas Valley: 6-2

The Pirates are coming off an 11-5 win over Pennsauken on Wednesday to move their record to 5-2. Four players scored two goals apiece and three scored a goal apiece.

The win came after a 16-6 loss to Northern Burlington Monday that snapped a four-game win streak.

Head coach Laura Curran provided a reason why the Pirates picked up a win Wednesday after such a tough loss on Monday to the Greyhounds.

“The biggest difference was our intensity from the start of the game. We also communicated and worked much better together on Wednesday than Monday. We have to remain consistent for the rest of the season and not have a repeat of Monday’s performance.”

The Pirates have allowed double digit goals four times this season and have scored in double digits five times, all five of their wins.

Rancocas Valley enters today’s BCSL contest with a 6-2 record and lost their most recent contest on Thursday to Notre Dame by a 13-3 score.

The Red Devils have actually lost their last two games after beginning the season on a six-game win streak. Their first loss of the year came against Moorestown 15-4.

In their six wins, the Red Devils allowed double digit goals against just once in an 11-10 win over Lenape to open the year. They have allowed just one goal in two games and have recorded a shutout (18-0 vs Pennsauken).

“We know RV is a great program and a few of our players have played with some of their players, so we know their tendencies and hopefully will be prepared at least defensively,” Curran said. “Knowing they are leading the division this year and how big of a win it would be if we could come out on top is definitely motivation enough to come out strong.”

Cinnaminson lost both contests against Rancocas Valley in 2015 by scores of 16-3 and 18-9, both times ending lengthy winning streaks for the Pirates.

“Everything will have to come together for us against RV,” Curran said. “I keep talking about how we played against Delran because that was truly our best complete game so far. It can be done. We just need to believe it and have the confidence that we can give them their first loss in the division.”
