Gameday Focus: Girl’s Basketball vs Oakcrest First Round SJG2

Game one of our playoff doubleheader coverage features girl’s basketball versus Oakcrest in the first round of the South, Group 2 tournament.

When: Monday, February 27 at 5pm

Where: Cinnaminson High School

#7 Pirates 19-7

The Pirates are 19-7 overall and enter as the #7 seed in the South, Group 2 bracket.

Cinnaminson has won four in a row, including a 39-35 victory over Haddon Township, the #3 seed in the South, Group 1 bracket, last week.

Fiona Flynn paces the Pirates offense with 398 points. She is one of four girls with 100 or more points on the season and one of three with 200 or more.

The other three girls are Maddie Parrish (105), Maddie Ogden (206) and Anne O’Malley (213). Tori Robinson is right on their heels with 96.

Of Flynn’s 398 points, 120 have come from the foul line.

#10 Oakcrest 9-13

The #10 Falcons enter the playoffs with a 9-13 record and are in the midst of a two-game losing streak.

Oakcrest lost its final two regular season games to Atlantic City and Millville by a combined 19 points.

Their last win came on February 16 against Atlantic Christian 55-39.

The Falcons have two players with 200 or more points scored this season in Ionyonia Alves (231) and Brielle Smith (266). Ahjanae Blalock and Nicolette Curcio both have 83.
