Get to know our staff with a little bit about their background.
Jim Vassallo – Editor-in-Chief/Creator (Sports and News)
Jim has been writing freelance full-time for more than eight years. He graduated from Rowan University in 2008 with a BA in Communications and a Minor in Journalism. While in school he worked at the campus radio station, 89.7 WGLS-FM, and the campus newspaper, The Whit. He resides in Cinnaminson with his wife Nicole and two sons.
Grace Shallow – Contributor (News and Sports)
Grace graduated from Cinnaminson High School in 2015. During her time there, she was on the varsity field hockey, swimming and lacrosse team. She is currently studying Journalism at Temple University. During her first semester at Temple, she became lead columnist for the opinion section of the school newspaper, The Temple News. Her work can also be seen in the Spirit, a newspaper where Grace interns that is based out of Fishtown, Philadelphia.
Christina Paciolla-Stahl – Contributor (News)
Raised in Cinnaminson, Christina is a graduate of Cinnaminson High School and Rowan University. From editor of CHS’ student paper to editor of a major Philadelphia daily newspaper, she has been in journalism her entire adult life. Currently, she works her dream job as an editor, reporter and news supervisor for The Associated Press. She was the inaugural editor of Cinnaminson Patch and has also worked for the Gloucester County Times, Metro Philadelphia and as an adjunct journalism professor at Rowan. She and her husband, Dave, moved from Riverton to Palmyra, where they bought a house and live with their cat, Franny. She loves yoga, reading, board games, tea, traveling and watching horror movies.
Mike Beam – Contributor (Weather, Sports and News)
Mike moved to Cinnaminson in 2004 and graduated from Cinnaminson High School in 2010. There, he was a member of the basketball and volleyball teams, stage crew, and other clubs. Mike then continued his education at Rutgers University in New Brunswick. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Meteorology with Magna Cum Laude honors in 2014. Since then, he has been a forecaster for television shows and films at Spot-On Weather in 2014. He also worked as a Forecaster, Certified Snowfall Total Analyst, and part of the Social Media Team at WeatherWorks in Hackettstown, NJ 2013-2015. Mike currently resides in Cinnaminson and works full-time in Moorestown while contributing to Cinn City News.
Alicia Park – Contributor (News)
Alicia is an Independent Educational Consultant, with a passion for Ed Tech, who has worked in education for over 10 years. She focuses her time on online ESL tutoring, in-person tutoring of all subjects and curriculum development for the non-profit organization, TechGirlz. Alicia has written numerous workshop plans regarding coding/programming, web accessibility, encryption, 3D printing/design and beyond. The TechGirlz mission is to reduce the gender gap in technology occupations, by focusing on girls at the crucial middle school age. (Learn how here: TechGirlz.org) Alicia grew up in Cinnaminson and graduated in 2005. In 2010, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Holy Family University, with a dual certification in Elementary/Special Education. Alicia currently resides in Palmyra with her husband Lee and dog Dottie.
Larry Henry – Contributor (Sports)
Larry is a writer for numerous publications, including Cinn City News, the Burlington County Times and South Jersey Sports Digest. He has covered Burlington County High School sports, while also blogging for Man City Square, Rush The Kop, and Section 215 of http://Fansided.com. Larry earned his Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Radio/TV/Film from Rowan University in 2015. He worked for Rowan Radio 89.7 WGLS-FM during his 2 1/2 years at Rowan and was also an intern during his final semester. Larry graduated from Maple Shade High School in 2010 and earned an Associate’s in Arts degree in Liberal Arts from Burlington County College in 2013. Larry worked as a Student DJ and Sports Analyst for BCC’s Radio Station Z88.9 FM. Larry was a two sport varsity athlete at MSHS, playing Baseball & Basketball. Larry resides in Maple Shade.
