The Boy’s Lacrosse team will host a comedy night fundraiser on Friday, March 27 at the high school featuring Robin Fox from Nickelodeon’s NickMom special “Mom’s Night Out.”

The show will be held in the high school auditorium, beginning at 8pm with emcee Adam Kerr taking the stage to open the night for a 15-minute performance.

Fox’s act features real-life stories about her 27-year marriage, her kids, her aging parents and life in the suburbs. She hails from New Jersey, but has taken her act all over the Northeast region.

This is the first comedy night hosted by the Boy’s Lacrosse team, with the hopes of turningĀ it into an annual tradition with new comedians each year.

Brenda McLaverty, the brains behind the comedy night, is hopeful that this will turn into a popular event that benefits the boys in the program.

“Next year, we will try to do another comedian or add-on to this one (Fox). We wanted to see how it will work out.”

Fox’s program is appropriate for both adults and teens, which makes it ideal for the community as a whole to enjoy.

“It’s a fun night. Come out, watch the show, and have some laughs,” McLaverty said.

The program has been built from the ground up over the past handful of years, beginning with a club team and then a JV program. When the sport was first offered at the high school, athletes needed to contribute $350 apiece in order to play. This will be the first season that the program is fully funded by the school.

The Boy’s Lacrosse team is currently finishing up their pre-season schedule and will open the regular season on April 1 with a home game against Holy Cross at 3:30pm.

Cinn City Sports will be in attendance for the season opener against the Lancers for game coverage.

Tickets in advance of the show cost $15 and will cost $20 at the door. To order advance tickets or for more information about the comedy night, contact Brenda McLaverty atĀ 856-303-9543 or bmclaverty1231@comcast.net.
