The Pirates week in review for the week ending April 26 features the end of a lengthy winning streak, the continuation of a losing streak, a strong showing at the Penn Relays, a BCSL Open title for golf and a second singles title at the boy’s tennis BCSL Open.

We begin our review with golf, which went 1-0 this week with a victory over Delran. The team also captured the school’s first-ever BCSL Open in the sport on Monday at Little Mill Country Club.

The win over Delran was by 39 points, at 160-199.

Baseball enjoyed yet another strong week, going 2-0 with a suspended game against Pemberton. The two wins came against Moorestown and Florence.

The Moorestown game featured a game-winning home run from Travis Pewor in the top of the seventh. The Florence game was all Cinnaminson from the start as the Pirates scored 14 runs en route to a 14-2 victory.

Softball went 0-2 this week to drop their 2015 record to 4-6. Losses came against Delran and Moorestown. The Delran game was a heartbreaker, allowing five runs in the bottom of the sixth en route to a 6-5 loss to their Patriot rivals.

Girl’s lacrosse extended their win streak to six games with a 20-2 win over Maple Shade on Thursday, but saw that win streak come to an end at the hands of Rancocas Valley, 16-3, on Saturday.

The struggles continued for boy’s lacrosse this week, losing their only game, 14-4 to Rancocas Valley. The Pirates have now lost five in a row after beginning the season with a 2-0 mark.

Boy’s tennis went 0-2 this week with losses to Palmyra and Moorestown.

The team also competed in the BCSL Open on Saturday. Eddie Runquist won the title for second singles.

Boy’s volleyball enjoyed their best week of the season, going 7-1 to move their record to 9-10 after a very slow start to the year.

Victories came against Pennsauken Tech (2), Clearview, Pleasantville, Camden Academy Charter, Hopewell Valley Central and West Windsor-Plainsboro South. The lone loss came against Kingsway.

Girl’s track and field won its second meet of the season, 81-55 over Bordentown, on Wednesday.

Boy’s track and field had just one meet this week, at Bordentown, winning 96-17, to remain undefeated on the young season. At the Penn Relays, the boy’s team took fifth in SJ small schools race at 3:27.89. The boys also finished with best time in the county for small schools in the 4×100 heats with a 44.83.

The Pirates return to action on Monday, April 27 at 3:30pm when boy’s tennis travels to Burlington Township and girl’s lacrosse hosts Holy Cross.
