The first full week of the spring sports season at Cinnaminson High School featured quite a bit of exciting wins and some heartbreaking losses for the Pirates.

Let’s take a look at the week in review for all of the spring varsity programs.

Monday was a light day for the varsity programs, with just boy’s tennis and girl’s lacrosse in action.

Boy’s tennis hosted Rancocas Valley, dropping their game by a score of 3-2.

Girl’s lacrosse picked up win number one of the season by taking down Mainland 3-2 on the road.

Despite the nasty weather this week, almost every varsity program played at least one game.

This includes baseball and softball, both of whom were home on Tuesday against Bordentown. Baseball edged the Scotties 9-7, while softball dropped to 0-2 with a 6-0 loss.

Boy’s volleyball traveled to St. Joseph’s Metuchen for a quad meet that also included Southern and Bloomfield, dropping all three games to fall to 0-5. All three of those opponents are ranked in the top 15 in the state.

Girl’s lacrosse opened their home schedule on Wednesday by throttling Pennsauken 16-4 for win number two on the season.

After a long layoff, boy’s lacrosse traveled to Lower Cape May on Thursday, securing a 3-2 victory.

Baseball’s game versus Delran was postponed to Friday, April 17.

Boy’s volleyball secured its first win of the season when Woodrow Wilson came to town.

Softball also picked up its first victory by taking down Pemberton 12-3.

On Friday, boy’s lacrosse dropped a heartbreaker, 10-9 in overtime to New Egypt. Girl’s lacrosse moved to 3-1 with a 15-8 victory against New Egypt on the road.

Boy’s volleyball fell to 1-6 on the season with a 2-0 loss to Williamstown. Boy’s tennis at Delran was canceled due to the weather.

Baseball’s tournament at Paul VI scheduled for Friday and Saturday was canceled.

On Saturday, softball traveled to Williamstown for a tournament, winning game one against Woodbury 15-1 and dropping a heartbreaker in game two to the host by a score of 6-5.

The boy’s track and field team competed at the Bensalem Invitational, while the girl’s track and field team took part in the West Deptford Relays.

Golf did not have anything on the schedule for this past week.

The Pirates return to action on Monday, April 13 at 11:30am when golf takes part in the Garden State Cup at Blue Herron Pines West.

Monday’s games also feature both Pirates lacrosse programs taking on Delran, boy’s tennis traveling to Northern Burlington and boy’s volleyball hosting Camden.
