Find out who takes home the Pirates Athletes of the Week honors for the week ending November 13.
Boy’s Cross Country: The boy’s cross country athlete of the week is Mike Ungvarsky. Ungvarsky won the Group 2 state title for cross country at Holmdel on Saturday in 15:58. He led the squad to a sixth place finish.
Football: The football athlete of the week is Kai Leibfried. Leibfried scooped up a Collingswood fumble and ran it 15 yards for a touchdown Friday night that pulled the Pirates within two points at 24-22 before the Pirates eventually fell in the first round.
Girl’s Cross Country: The girl’s cross country athlete of the week is Madison Edwards. Edwards finished highest for the Pirates at the Group 2 state meet at Holmdel Saturday as the team came in 18th. Edwards ran the course in 20:54.
Girl’s Soccer: The girl’s soccer athlete of the week is Kelly Kane. Kane scored a goal late in the Pirates 2-0 win over Middle Township Tuesday in the South, Group 2 semifinal to clinch the victory and send Cinnaminson to the group final.
