Game coverage for this Thursday features softball vs Glassboro, which makes this contest the subject of our Gameday Focus. Let’s take an in-depth look at this game as the Pirates prepare to host the Bulldogs.

When: Thursday, May 12 at 4pm.

Where: Cinnaminson High School.

Cinnaminson: 7-12

Glassboro: 6-12

Cinnaminson will look to get back into the win column today and end a four-game losing streak. The Pirates latest game was an 8-3 loss to Pemberton in the Patriot Division on Tuesday.

The Pirates went in front in that game thanks to a Kelly Sigmund RBI single followed by a two run home run from Brooke Figiel, but the Hornets used a four-run fifth inning to take a 6-3 lead.

Pemberton then tacked on two insurance runs in the seventh for good measure.

That was pretty much all the offense from the Pirates in the loss to Pemberton.

The Pirates have also lost to Burlington Township (12-0 BCSL), Bordentown (9-4 extras in Patriot) and Florence (7-4 in Patriot) during the four-game skid.

The cutoff date for playoff seeding is this Saturday and the seeds will be announced on Tuesday. Including today’s game vs Glassboro, the Pirates have two games left before the cutoff.

Cinnaminson also hosts Pitman on Friday. The Pirates are in a good position to grab two wins prior to the cutoff date and solidify a top-four seed in the tournament.

Glassboro enters today’s game with a record of 6-12 after a 12-1 loss to Woodstown on Wednesday.

The Bulldogs are in the midst of a three-game losing streak and haven’t won since they beat Haddonfield 8-6 on April 30.

All three of their losses have come to division opponents. They have been outscored 36-13 during the losing streak. Eleven of their 13 runs came in a 12-11 loss to Penns Grove that began the losing streak.

Glassboro has been held to three runs or less in seven times and has been held to one run or less five times this season. The Bulldogs have allowed double digits in runs eight times.

Some of their other wins this season have come against Camden Academy Charter, Woodstown, Pitman, Gateway and Penns Grove.

These two teams have not met in the last seven-plus years.
