The second of two games being covered today by Cinn City Sports features softball at Delran for a night contest. Let’s take an in-depth look at this Patriot contest with our Gameday Focus.

When: Thursday, May 19 at 6:30pm.

Where: Delran Community Park.

Cinnaminson: 9-12, 2-5

Delran: 8-9, 2-5

The final regular season game of 2016 will be played tonight and it couldn’t end with a better contest as the Pirates softball team visits Delran for a Patriot Division game.

Cinnaminson comes in at 9-12 overall and 2-5 in the Patriot. The Pirates have won two in row, both shutouts, over Glassboro 8-0 and Pitman 6-0.

Pirates pitching has been downright dominant of late, recording 23 strikeouts and allowing just four hits across the two wins.

The win over Glassboro last week snapped a four-game losing streak that saw the Pirates fall from a potential #1 seed in the South, Group 2 Tournament to the #4 seed.

Cinnaminson opens the playoffs Monday, May 23 at home against #13 Medford Tech at 3:45pm.

The Pirates have taken on Delran once already this season, suffering a 4-3 setback at Wood Park under the lights.

Delran comes in at 8-9 overall and 2-5 in the Patriot.

The Bears have lost three games in a row, all of them against Patriot teams that eliminated them from title contention. Delran has been outscored 27-8 during the losing streak.

Delran has been shutout three times this season and held to one run in three other games.

Delran also made the playoffs and will open their title chase on Monday, May 23 with a home game against Barnegat. Delran earned the #4 seed in the Pirates bracket, while Barnegat is the #11 seed.

Both teams are in the South, Group 2 bracket this season.
