Due to the weather today our game coverage has changed from baseball home vs Bordentown to softball at Bordentown. With the change in coverage comes the change in our Gameday Focus.

When: Thursday, April 7 at 6:30pm.

Where: Bordentown Regional High School.

Cinnaminson: 1-4

Bordentown: 0-0

The Pirates come into this game with a 1-4 record, having played all of their games on the road. Their most recent contest resulted in a 15-14 loss in 10 innings at Riverside on Wednesday.

Brooke Figiel led the way offensively with a 3-for-5 day and five RBIs. Kyla Screnci went 3-for-5 with four runs scored.

Maddison Figiel, Kelly Sigmund and Olivia Pestridge each had two hits in the loss.

Yesterday was not a good day for defensive stats as the two teams combined for 20 errors, six from the Pirates and 14 from the Rams. Of the 15 runs allowed by Pirates pitching, just seven of them were earned. Of the 14 runs scored by the Pirates, just two of them were earned.

Cinnaminson has been in every game played so far this year and their lone win came via a 10-2 blowout against Buena. The other losses have been to Holy Cross (1-0), Pennsville Memorial (4-0) and Northern Burlington (2-1).

Bordentown has yet to play a game this season due to rainouts so tonight will be their season and home opener all in one shot.

The Scotties are coming off a season in which they won the Patriot crown with an 8-0 mark in division play and finished 17-5 overall. Bordentown’s 2015 season ended in the second round of the Central, Group 2 Tournament with a 4-3 loss to Manasquan.

The Scotties were leading 3-0 in the top of the seventh when Manasquan scored all four of their runs to take the lead. The Scotties did not score in the bottom of the inning, falling 4-3.

Bordentown swept the season series against Cinnaminson in 2015 by scores of 6-0 and 5-1.

Head coach Tracy Bart told us after the loss to Riverside what her girls need to do to be successful:

“We talked about it yesterday. Stay positive,” Bart said. “Keep hitting the ball hard. Eventually those hits are going to drop in and they will be base hits and we’re gonna start putting the runs up on the board.”
