The Pirates boy’s lacrosse team will honor its seniors tonight when Williamstown visits for a game under the lights at the stadium. Cinnaminson will also be looking for its first win of the year.

When: Tuesday, April 19 at 6:30pm

Where: Cinnaminson’s George D. Paternoster Memorial Field

Cinnaminson: 0-7

Williamstown: 3-3

Cinnaminson’s boy’s lacrosse team was excited to begin the 2016 season and had every reason for the excitement. The numbers were like nothing the program had ever seen before, especially when it came to the freshman class.

But, as with any young program, there are growing pains. Boy’s lacrosse did not become a varsity program until the 2012 season, so this year marks the fifth year of competition at the varsity level for the Pirates.

Cinnaminson opened the season with a 15-1 loss at home to Lower Cape May, a team they split the season series with in 2015.

The Pirates have allowed double digit goals in five of seven games in 2016. Cinnaminson has been shutout once, a 15-0 loss at home to Delran.

Williamstown comes into this contest with a 3-3 mark after defeating Woodstown 6-4 on Saturday.

The Braves have struggled offensively this year, scoring no more than nine goals in a game, which came in a 9-7 win over Haddon Township.

The Braves have given up double digit goals just twice this year, an 11-2 loss to Bishop Eustace to open the season and a 15-2 loss to Kingsway.

Last season was the first time these two teams met and the Pirates picked up a 3-1 win on senior night. It was the first senior night win in program history. 2015 graduates Alex Artur and Patrick Morton scored to give the Pirates 2-1 and 3-1 leads on senior night.

Cinnaminson traveled to Williamstown for the third game of this season and fell by a 7-6 score, the most goals scored in a game by the Pirates this year.

The Pirates trailed 7-3 heading into the fourth quarter and mounted a furious comeback, but fell just shy of sending the game to overtime.

Ryan Bleistine, Mason McLaverty and Tom Schlindwein each recorded two goals in the loss.

This game is slated to begin at 6:30pm. Be sure to follow us on Twitter for live updates throughout the game and check the site later tonight for a full recap.
