The Cinnaminson Elite softball team picked up a 4-3 walk off win over the Black Panthers Tuesday night to move to 3-2 on the season in the SJCSL.

The Black Panthers are made up mostly of girls from Rowan College at Burlington County (RCBC).

Elite was the home team at Wood Park on Tuesday night and the game lasted just five innings due to the 90-minute limit.

Rebecca Martino got the start in the circle and allowed just two runs in three innings of work.

“They’re moving the ball well,” head coach Tracy Bart said. “You can actually see them trying to move the ball more because the older kids hit well.”

“It’s getting comfortable, their confidence and the more they play, the more they’re going to adjust. They are getting adjusted to Ashley (Klein) because they didn’t work much with her during the season. So, it’s adjusting to a new catcher too.”

The Elite team struggled to get the bats going early in the game, stranding runners in the second and third innings.

The Black Panthers went up 1-0 in the top of the first on a wild pitch. They extended their lead to 2-0 in the top of the third on an RBI single.

Cinnaminson tied the game in the bottom of the fourth on a deep double to center from Brenna MacNair.

MacNair was caught rounding second and got into a rundown that allowed the tying run to score.

“She’s a coach’s dream,” Bart said. “She can bunt, she can hit, she can slap, she can run. She’s smart on the bases. She’s a package.”

The Black Panthers went back on top in the fifth on a fielder’s choice.

Cinnaminson came to the plate in the bottom of the fifth already knowing it was the last inning because they were minutes from the 90-minute limit.

The Elite team scored twice to win the game 4-3.

A leadoff double and bloop single from Brittany Runyen set up a missed catch error that made it 3-3.

Klein won the game with a walk off single to center.

The Elite team is now 3-2 on the year. They play again Sunday, June 26 at 6:30 versus the Shamrocks at Wood Park.
