Week 6 Football Preview vs Lawrence

Lawrence comes to town Friday night at 7pm to face the 4-1 Pirates, who are still smarting from a 34-33 loss to Holy Cross one week ago.

In the Pirates previous four games, the team had allowed a total of 25 points, but allowed all 34 points to Holy Cross in the second half of the shocking loss.

An 0-5 Lawrence team will be just what the doctor ordered for Cinnaminson, who defeated the Cardinals 35-13 in the first-ever meeting between the two schools last season.

Look for much of the same result in tonight’s game as Lawrence has struggled mightily on both sides of the ball this year.

The Cardinals come into tonight’s game following a 43-14 loss to Burlington Township in which they gave up 378 yards of offense, with 247 of them from the rushing game.

Davon Hemingway has been the go-to guy for Lawrence this year. He scored the Cardinals only two touchdowns last week, one on the ground and one through the air. Hemingway has five receiving touchdowns and three rushing touchdowns in 2015.

Quarterback Brandon West has thrown six interceptions through five games.

For Cinnaminson, Shaun Davilla has led an explosive offense through the air and on the ground. Davilla has accounted for 13 offensive touchdowns this season and one special teams score. He has six passing touchdowns and seven on the ground. He has thrown for 547 yards and rushed for 381 yards.

Wide receiver Devon Taylor has caught four of Davilla’s touchdown passes and has accumulated 233 receiving yards through five games.

The Pirates will look to rebound from last week’s heartbreaking loss to division rival Holy Cross when Lawrence comes to town for a 7pm kickoff tonight.

Everything went right for the Pirates in the first half, going up 21-0 at the break, and then 27-7 early in the third quarter. But, the Lancers continued to answer everything the Pirates did, scoring at-will over the final two quarters to stun Cinnaminson.
