The Pirates field hockey team will host division rival Maple Shade on Friday at 3:30pm in a much-anticipated rematch of the first meeting between the teams.

When: Friday, October 7 at 3:30pm

Where: Cinnaminson High School

Pirates 6-4, 4-2 Patriot

Cinnaminson is riding a three-game win streak that has improved their record to 6-4 overall and 4-2 in the Patriot Division.

The Pirates have knocked off Delran 3-1, Pennsauken 1-0 and New Egypt 4-1.

The wins over Delran and New Egypt came within the division.

Cinnaminson is just one game out of first place in the Patriot behind the Bears, who are 5-1 in division play.

Serafina Kennedy and Maura Tumelty lead the team in goals scored with six apiece.

Marissa Porrini is right behind them with four on the season.

Rebecca Shinn has two after notching both goals in the 4-1 win over New Egypt earlier this week.

Wildcats 8-2, 5-2 Patriot

Maple Shade has enjoyed a turnaround season in 2016, playing to an 8-2 record after winning two games in 2015.

The Wildcats are 5-2 in the division and tied for first with Delran since there are no tiebreakers for division lead.

Maple Shade’s two losses this season have come in division play against Delran 1-0 and New Egypt 2-1.

The Wildcats won their previous played game, 2-1 over Patriot opponent Bordentown on Wednesday.

Makayla Muse leads the Wildcats with seven goals scored in 2016. Allison Bimmer is right behind her with six.

Keeper Dana Sheply has recorded four shutouts through 10 games.

Head to Head

Today’s rematch should be a fun one.

The Pirates fell to the Wildcats 1-0 in their first meeting of 2016.

Cinnaminson dominated possession, but could not sneak one past Sheply in the cage.

The Pirates offense has improved greatly since that game, outscoring opponents 11-5 and have gone 4-1 in five games.

Maple Shade has played to a record of 2-2 since the 1-0 win over the Pirates.

The Wildcats have outscored their opponents 7-6 in those four games.

Cinnaminson swept Maple Shade 4-2 and 6-0 last season.
