The very first Senior Spotlight on Cinn City Sports features baseball player Jimmy Cicale. Cicale has helped the Pirates begin the season with a 5-1 record.
He is just the first of dozens of Senior Spotlights that will be published in the coming days, weeks and months on the site.
College: “I haven’t committed yet, but most likely Rider University.”
Cicale is just one member of a very talented senior class on the diamond for the Pirates, but he does not think he will play the game in college.
“At first I really wanted to continue my baseball career in college, but I think it is best to retire after my senior year.”
Cicale has picked accounting as his major once he begins his collegiate career in the fall.
Sticking with the whole baseball theme, Cicale was asked to pick who the Pirates toughest opponent has been during his time on the varsity team.
“I think the toughest opponent throughout my varsity career is Holy Cross. They are a good team and we always battle with them.”
In regards to what he has learned while playing in the program, Cicale said, “I’ve learned how to play many positions including shortstop, left field, and third base, but I mainly learned how to win.”
Everyone knows that athletes don’t have a ton of free-time, but when he has down-time, Cicale said, “In my free time I hangout with my best friends who are all on the baseball team.”
Since Cicale’s time at Cinnaminson High School didn’t just include baseball, we had to ask what his favorite class was.
“My favorite class at CHS is definitely accounting with Mrs. Vavricka.”
And, as many baseball players say, The Sandlot is Cicale’s favorite sports movie.
Athletes love their music. Whether they listen to their favorite song or band on the bus, or while working out, there is always a song that helps get their mind focused on the task at hand.
Cicale’s favorite songs are Elton John’s Tiny Dancer and Joe Walsh’s Life’s Been Good.
