The spring sports season at Cinnaminson High School got underway on Wednesday, April 1 with a couple of teams in action.

By Wednesday, almost all of the programs took part in their first contests of the spring.

It wasn’t until Saturday that every program officially started the spring season as both the girl’s and boy’s track and field programs competed at the Hall of Fame Relays at Maple Shade High School.

It all started on Wednesday when the boy’s lacrosse team hosted Holy Cross High School at the football stadium for the first-ever BCSL boy’s lacrosse game.

The Pirates recorded an exciting, 5-4, come from behind victory to top the Lancers on the strength of two fourth quarter goals from Alex Artur.

Thursday marked opening day for both the baseball and softball programs at Cinnaminson, with both teams hosting Northern Burlington.

Softball dropped a 4-1 decision, but never gave up from the first pitch to the final out, something that Coach Tracy Bart was especially proud of after the game.

That same afternoon, baseball saw a 5-1 lead over the Greyhounds disappear, only to rally for two late-inning runs to grab a 7-6 victory. Sophomore reliever Dom Cicale picked up his first varsity win in relief of starter Ryan Hanratty.
