The Pirates Week in Review for September 14-20 is here as we take a look back at how the varsity teams fared this week at Cinnaminson High School.
The athletic week opened Tuesday with four varsity programs in action. Boy’s soccer visited Pennsauken and returned home with their first win of the season, 2-1 in overtime against the Indians.
Girl’s tennis picked up win number two with a 5-0 victory against Trenton Catholic and both cross country programs went 4-1 at a batch meet hosted by New Egypt.
Wednesday was a very light day as only two programs were in action as girl’s tennis and field hockey both suffered losses. Girl’s tennis was defeated for the first time in 2015 during a match with Holy Cross and field hockey suffered a 3-0 loss to Delran.
Four teams competed on a very warm Thursday. Both soccer teams took on Moorestown, with the girls falling 3-2 at home and the boys posting a second straight win this week by a score of 3-0.
Also from Thursday, field hockey rebounded with a 4-1 win over Maple Shade and girl’s volleyball dropped a 2-0 match to Sterling.
Friday was a very successful day for the Pirates as girl’s volleyball, girl’s tennis and football all recorded wins at home. Girl’s volleyball took down Camden Charter 2-0, girl’s tennis rebounded with a 4-1 win over Pemberton and football held off a late rally from Willingboro to win 23-16.
The Pirates enjoyed another undefeated day on Saturday as boy’s soccer traveled to Hightstown, coming away with a 3-1 win, and girl’s volleyball went 3-0 in a quad match hosted by Moorestown to move their record to 5-2. Boy’s soccer has now won three in a row after dropping their season opener.
