The Pirates Week in Review for the week ending May 24 features baseball, softball, golf and track and field all in the playoffs with volleyball finishing out the regular season schedule.
We begin with baseball. The Pirates hosted Point Pleasant Boro on Monday in the opening round of the Central, Group 2 Tournament as the one-seed. Cinnaminson came away with a 12-9 victory on a rainy afternoon.
Baseball then clinched a share of the BCSL Freedom Division title with a 2-1 victory over Pemberton on Tuesday in a regular season game. The Pirates also took down New Egypt in a regular season game with a walk-off, 1-0 victory on Wednesday.
The Pirates second round game, against division rival Delran, was postponed from Thursday to Friday due to the rain Thursday afternoon. Despite the layoff, the Pirates still came away victorious, 5-4, to advance to the semi-finals. That round will be played Tuesday at home against Robbinsville, the five-seed, at 4pm.
Softball finished out both their regular season schedule and their playoff run this past week. The Pirates went 0-2, with one loss coming to Delran in 9 innings, 7-6, to finish the regular season and the other coming to Governor Livingston 6-0 to eliminate them from the playoffs.
Golf competed at the State, Group 2 Finals on Monday at the Hopewell Valley Country Club. The team finished third in the state at the tournament. The team then beat Rancocas Valley on Wednesday to cap the first undefeated golf season in school history.
Boy’s volleyball completed their season on Monday with a victory over Camden Academy Charter on senior night by a mark of 2-0 with 25-14 and 25-15 set wins.
