The Pirates Daily Preview for Tuesday, February 16 features boy’s basketball vs Pennsauken Tech and girl’s basketball at Pemberton.

Boy’s Basketball: Home vs Pennsauken Tech at 3:45pm.

Game Preview Capsule: Boy’s basketball looks to rebound from a tough, 72-50 loss to Glassboro on Sunday morning when the team hits the court this afternoon against Pennsauken Tech. Will Cabbler led the Pirates with 18 points in the loss and Devon Taylor contributed 14. Cinnaminson is 13-6 on the year.

Pennsauken Tech comes into this game with an 11-8 record and has won two in a row. In their last six games the Tornadoes are 5-1. Their most recent win was an 81-50 drubbing of Vineland Prep last Tuesday. The Tornadoes earned a berth as the 13-seed in the Pirates playoff bracket (South, Group 2) and will face #4 Woodstown in the first round.

These two teams last met on January 5 at Pennsauken Tech. The Pirates picked up a 67-47 victory as Taylor and Rich Rickus led the Pirates in scoring with 14 points apiece. Conor Bresnahan chipped in with 13 points and Pat McCarthy tallied 12 in the rout as eight Pirates scored at least one point.

Girl’s Basketball: At Pemberton at 5:15pm.

Game Preview Capsule: Girl’s basketball will look to win a second straight game when it hits the court against Pemberton tonight on the road. The Pirates took down Haddon Heights 60-58 on Friday night as Marisa DiLeo became the program record holder for threes in a career. The win was the 15th of the season for Cinnaminson (15-5) and snapped a three-game losing streak.

Pemberton has a record of 10-10 and has won five games in a row to get to the .500 mark. Their most recent win was a 62-26 victory over Camden on Monday. During their five-game win streak, the Hornets have scored at least 56 points in all five games and have scored 62 or more twice.

This is the only meeting between Cinnaminson and Pemberton this season. Last year, the Pirates picked up a 67-37 win over the Hornets. DiLeo led all scorers with 21 points as Anne O’Malley added 11 and Alex Kane picked up 10 in the victory. The Hornets are a much-improved team from last season (5-19) and their turnaround has rewarded them with a playoff berth in the Central, Group 3 Tournament.
