When: Friday, September 23 at 7pm

Where: Holy Cross High School

Pirates 2-0, 1-0 Liberty

Cinnaminson has picked up right where it left off in 2015 with a 2-0 start to the 2016 season.

The Pirates shutout Willingboro 27-0 on opening night and steamrolled Sterling 54-14 in their first home game.

Cinnaminson averaged more than 32 points per game in 2015 and through two games this year, are averaging 40.5 points per game.

Quarterback Shaun Davilla continues to lead the offensive onslaught of the Pirates.

He accounted for 29 total touchdowns in 2015 and has five through two games this season.

One of the biggest reasons for the Pirates success so far has been the team’s turnover differential.

The Pirates have yet to turn the ball over and have forced four through two games (two fumble recoveries and two interceptions).

One of those interceptions was returned 52 yards for a touchdown by Frankie Stepnowski against Sterling.

Lancers 1-1, 1-0 Liberty

Holy Cross has been on both ends of blowouts to start the 2016 campaign.

The Lancers routed division opponent Bordentown on opening night 42-14.

Last week, the Lancers were throttled by Haddonfield 41-14.

Both of their touchdowns, in the second half, were big yardage plays.

Quarterback Jeff Undercuffler hit receiver Andrew Paolini for a 54-yard score and running back Tim Petrucelli broke off a touchdown run of 30 yards.

Two of the Lancers touchdowns in the win over Bordentown went for more than 20 yards.

Matt Verrico scampered 22 yards for a touchdown and Petrucelli broke off a 50-yard touchdown run.

Head to Head

This has not been a kind rivalry for the Pirates the last two seasons.

Cinnaminson has not beaten Holy Cross since the 2013 season, a 37-6 romp of the Lancers.

Holy Cross picked up a 62-29 win in 2014.

In 2015, the Pirates led the contest 21-0 at halftime, but lost 34-33 as the Lancers outscored Cinnaminson 34-12 in the second half.

Both teams shared the Liberty crown in 2015 with former division member Pemberton.
