Pirates 2-2, 1-1 Patriot

After a rough start to the 2016 season with back-to-back shutout losses, the Pirates have won two in a row to get back on track.

The shutout losses came to Delran 1-0 and Burlington Township 4-0.

Cinnaminson picked up its first win of the year against New Egypt on Friday by a 3-0 score. The win was also the Pirates first in division play.

Marissa Porrini scored all three goals to spark the victory.

Then, on Monday, the Pirates took down host Northern Burlington 4-1.

Goals came from Porrini, Maura Tumelty and Serafina Kennedy (2).

Maple Shade 5-0, 3-0 Patriot

The Wildcats are off to a fast start in 2016, winning their first five games overall and first three within the Patriot Division.

It is a far cry from where the Wildcats were in 2015 as Maple Shade finished the season with a 2-15 record.

Maple Shade also went winless in division play last season.

Maple Shade has allowed two goals through the first five games and has not allowed more than one goal against in a single game.

The first three wins of the year for the Wildcats came in shutout fashion against New Egypt 2-0, Medford Tech 7-0 and Pemberton 3-0.

Maple Shade recently took down Bordentown 3-1 and Florence 2-1.

The Wildcats will be tested with back-to-back games against Patriot teams Cinnaminson and Delran this week.

Head to Head

The Pirates swept the season series in 2015 with wins of 4-2 and 6-0.

The last win for Maple Shade against Cinnaminson came during the 2014 season, 3-2.

Cinnaminson and Maple Shade also played to a 3-3 tie that season.
