Pirates 2015 Recap
The 2015 season saw the boy’s soccer team go on yet another deep playoff run, this time to the sectional final.
Cinnaminson hosted Delran for the much-anticipated contest and fell in penalty kicks to the Bears.
It was the third sectional final the Pirates played in under head coach Jason Meile.
The Pirates had an up and down 2015 campaign, going 11-6-5 overall, did an excellent job rebounding from tough games.
Cinnaminson had to upset some tough teams on the road en route to the sectional final game, but their regular season schedule prepared them for those challenges.
The Pirates tied Rancocas Valley 1-1 and rebounded to take down Burlington Township 1-0 after dropping a 3-2 contest earlier in the season.
Penalty kicks were a theme for the boy’s soccer team last season. The Pirates used PKs to take down Pinelands in the first round of the playoffs.
Earlier in the season, the Pirates fell in PKs to Burlington Township in the first round of the South Jersey Coaches Cup by a 12-11 score.
The offense was led last year by Mason Stepnowski and Pat McCarthy, both of whom graduated.
Pirates 2016 Outlook
The Pirates return one of the top keepers in South Jersey in Mike Deal.
He will be helped defensively by senior Jarrod Averill, who will anchor the back line.
The offense will be led by senior Chris Updike, who missed time last year due to injury.
A healthy mix of returners and newcomers will lead the Pirates on the field in 2016.

Red Raiders 1-0
Ocean City played its season opener on Thursday against Lower Cape May, coming away with a 6-0 victory.
The Red Raiders spread the ball around nicely against Lower Cape May, with five different players scoring a goal.
Ocean City finished the 2015 season at 11-9-2. The Red Raiders fell in the South, Group 3 final to Toms River South 2-1.
Game time is slated for 4pm. Check back right here for live updates throughout the game. We will have a full recap with pictures and quotes later tonight after football.
