The Cinnaminson Fire Department urges residents and business owners to call 911 immediately in the event of smoke or fire.

There were three instances during the month of July, 2016 where fires were not reported via 911.

Two of the fires were reported the day after they took place.

In the release, Chief William Kramer reminds residents and business owners to dial 911 immediately at the detection of smoke or fire.

There is nothing wrong with asking for help in a dangerous situation.

Members of the public who try to fight a fire on their own risk injury to themselves and the occupants of the building, who might not know to evacuate the premises.

These instances also make it more dangerous for firefighters responding to the scene if the call to 911 is not made immediately.

Any questions or concerns, please call the department at 856-829-5220 during normal business hours.
