Press Release from the Office of Senate President Steve Sweeney:

Senate President Steve Sweeney honored retiring director of the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety, William Kramer, at the annual Gloucester County Fire Chiefs and Fire Officers Association dinner and awards ceremony.

Sweeney presented Kramer with a proclamation on behalf of the association, recognizing his four decades of service to the community.

“William Kramer is a dedicated professional and loyal public servant to the people of New Jersey,” said Sweeney. “As a state fire marshal, director of the Division of Fire Safety and 40-year veteran of the Cinnaminson Fire Department, he has risked life and limb to protect our residents and improve working conditions for our state’s firefighters. I am proud to join the association in honoring Chief Kramer, and I thank him for his remarkable body of work.”

Currently the Chief of the Cinnaminson Fire Department, William Kramer was appointed acting director/state fire marshal of the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety in 2011.

Prior to his appointment he served as deputy director and bureau chief for the Bureau of Fire Department Services and the Bureau of Fire Code Enforcement.

Also recognized at the event were dozens of individual firefighters who earned Valor Awards for exhibiting bravery in the conduct of their duties in 2016.

“There is no public calling more dangerous than what is demanded of our state’s firefighters,” added Sweeney.  “I am honored to lend my voice to tonight’s event, in praise of all that you do and all you have risked to protect our residents.”
