Despite being postponed one week due to rain, Cinnaminson Day 2016 was a roaring success for all involved on Sunday.

The annual event, held at Wood Park, brought thousands of people from Cinnaminson and the surrounding communities.

“I love when all the community comes out,” township committee member Don Brauckmann said. “I like to see the business people in town. It’s just a great day for Cinnaminson. It makes me proud to be a part of Cinnaminson.”

The weather Sunday was perfect; sunny, a slight breeze and just a tiny chill in the air.

There was plenty for the kids to do Sunday from picking their own pumpkins to playing in a bounce house to running through the Cinnaminson Fire Department obstacle course.

The Cinnaminson Police Department had a document shredding truck on hand in the Footlighter’s parking lot for residents to have their important documents shredded free of charge.

“Everyone just loves this day,” Brauckmann said. “All the residents I’ve spoken to today have said it’s a great day. They like how the businesses support the event. It’s a great thing to see everyone come out.”

Plenty of local businesses were in attendance, handing out promotional items and food for attendees so no one would go home empty handed.

Representatives from multiple Cinnaminson High School clubs and teams were also at Wood Park, raising money for their initiatives through the sale of baked goods and spirit wear.

The Cinnaminson Elementary Home and School Association (CEHASA) was also on hand selling raffle tickets for their vehicle fundraiser.

After another successful year, the planning committee will get right back to work on next year’s event in the very near future.

“The weather is always the most important, but outside of that it’s just coordinating with everyone,” Brauckmann said.

“Working with the fire department and the car show. We try to make sure there are no conflicts with everyone involved. You can never satisfy everyone, but you try to pick a date that works.”
