The Cinnaminson Elementary Home and School Association (CEHASA) will be raffling off a 2017 GMC Terrain this year.
The raffle for the truck was announced tonight at back to school night at Rush.
The Terrain has an MSRP of $30,670.
It will replace traditional direct sale fundraising efforts used by the organization in the past.
“We did a little research after the school year and found out that people are tired of selling the same typical items,” CEHASA President Stacia Heath said. “We asked them if they would be interested in something different.”
This is the first time ever that CEHASA will be raffling off a vehicle.
Previous items sold by parents and students included candles, coupon books, cheesecake and more.
The board met and discussed the possibility of raffling off a vehicle as one massive fundraiser for CEHASA.
Each child at New Albany and Rush will be given two tickets to sell.
Tickets are $40 apiece and must be turned in by November 18. Quantities are limited as there are only 2,700 tickets available.
CEHASA asks that any unsold or unused tickets also be returned by November 18.
Checks can be made payable to CEHASA.
The drawing will take place at a “carbeque” at Wood Park on April 30 at 5pm. You do not have to be present at the drawing to win the truck. Taxes and registration are the responsibility of the winner.
“We are hoping this fundraiser is so successful that we don’t have to do any fundraising next year,” Heath said. “If it fails, we don’t have to do it again. But, we have a feeling this will be a big fundraiser for us.”
The proceeds of the raffle go back to the organization to pay for activities and enrichment programs at the elementary schools.
Some of the activities include guest speakers, Pirate Pride Day, socials, field trips, recognition night, camp and more.
