The 20th annual CEHASA WinterFest is set for Sunday, December 4th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cinnaminson Middle School.

CEHASA (Cinnaminson Elementary Home and School Association) will use the proceeds generated from the day to pay for various events at Rush and New Albany School.

The fundraising efforts go towards assemblies, guest speakers, school outings and more.

CEHASA WinterFestThe event is being run this year by Deanna Marz, who takes over for Christina Rayzis. Rayzis is now the Publicity Chair.

“This event has really been handed down from parent to parent,” Rayzis said. “It’s a testament to the community and those who have run it that it’s been around for 20 years.”

“WinterFest is a fun filled day with entertainment for the whole family to enjoy. There will be many activities for children, including crafts and a visit with Santa. Check off your holiday shopping list by visiting our crafters as well as our beautiful poinsettia sale.”

Santa Claus will arrive at the event courtesy of a ride from the Cinnaminson Fire Department.

Children will be able to decorate their own Santa or Elf hats. There will be a donut decorating station and a craft make and take station.

“We have a Santa’s Workshop for the smaller kids. They can create their own Santa hat or own Elf hat,” Rayzis said.

“Every year we buy hundreds of hats and we leave with known. It’s really cute because you see the kids wearing their hats around for the next few weeks.”

The Sweets & Treats Lane is a popular draw each year.

“We have people from the community who come out and go shopping for treats and things,” Rayzis said. “It’s really sweet to see people come out who might not bake anymore and now they come and support us in that way.”

Aside from poinsettias, various Cinnaminson spirit wear will also be available for purchase.

If you don’t just want a poinsettia, but also a mum. Consider purchasing a mumsettia. Yes, a mumsettia. According to Rayzis, people come to CEHASA WinterFest each year simply for their mumsettias.

“We get these mumsettias. They’re beautiful and you can’t get them anywhere else in the area and we have people who come to WinterFest just for them.”

The cafeteria will feature pizza, hoagies and more for lunch.

Entertainment will also be on hand throughout the day.

“This year our second grade is coming to do a performance,” Rayzis said. “Our Music Makers from Rush School will come and perform. They come every year. The high school marching band will come and help welcome Santa. It’s a tradition that everyone loves.”
