Burlington City (2-4) comes to town tonight for a 7pm meeting with the Pirates (5-1). The Pirates enter the game following their week seven bye, while the Blue Devils come in off a 14-3 victory over New Egypt.

Cinnaminson will look to do much of the same against Burlington City that it did versus Lawrence prior to the bye. The 57-28 victory was their fifth of the season and helped the team rebound from a tough, 34-33 loss to Holy Cross.

In the victory over Lawrence, the Pirates scored eight touchdowns on nine drives, including three total from junior Frank Stepnowski. Stepnowski scored two on the ground and one through the air.

The defense started to return to where it was at the start of the season, allowing just 21 points. The other touchdown was scored on an 80-yard interception return by Davon Hemingway of Lawrence.

Burlington City has played well on defense this season, despite their 2-4 record, allowing an average of just under 16 points per game. In fact, their opponents have scored a total of 95 points.

The Blue Devils defense will get its first real test tonight when it faces the explosive Pirates offense, which has outscored opponents 193-87.

Burlington City’s offense has scored only 91 total points in 2015 and they do not have a breakout player or two who can takeover the game. Their offense will be faced with a stiff test against the Pirates stout defense tonight.

Junior quarterback Shaun Davilla has thrown seven touchdown passes this season, rushed for nine and returned one punt for a score.

Senior wide receiver Devon Taylor has four touchdown receptions this year, while freshman Rashad Raymond has three touchdowns on the ground to go along with 266 yards.

Eight different players have scored a touchdown this season for the Pirates, either receiving, rushing or in the return game.

Burlington City holds a 9-8 advantage in the all-time series, but the Pirates have won seven in a row coming into tonight’s contest.
