The Pirates football preview for week four has arrived as Cinnaminson prepares to take on Hamilton High School West Saturday at 3pm on the road.
Cinnaminson enters the week riding a three-game win streak and a second shutout defensively after a 38-0 win over Bordentown last Friday.
The Pirates racked up 350 yards on offense, with 241 of them coming from the rushing game. Of those 241 yards on the ground, freshman running back Rashad Raymond accounted for 120 of them on only nine carries.
Cinnaminson executed a Hail Mary pass at the end of the first half when quarterback Shaun Davilla hit Kevin Schoch at the front pylon to build a 24-0 lead at the half.
Davilla has accounted for seven touchdowns this season; three passing, three rushing and one punt return.
Cinnaminson’s defense once again limited an opponent on offense, posting its second shutout of the young season. In 12 quarters of play, the defense has allowed a total of 16 points, all to Willingboro in a 23-16 victory in week two.
Hamilton High School West is 1-1 this year and enters the game with Cinnaminson following a bye week. Their lone win of the season came against Princeton in week one, 10-7. Those 10 points are the only ones scored by Hamilton West this season. They were throttled by Notre Dame, 40-0, in week two.
Mark Bethea picked up 151 yards rushing on 25 carries in the season-opening win for Hamilton West. Bethea ran 11 times for minus-one yard in the Hornets week two loss. Hamilton West gained a total of 27 yards on offense in their week two loss, 15 through the air and 12 on the ground. Their defense allowed 298 yards of offense to Notre Dame.
These two programs will be meeting for only the third time in history, with the Pirates holding a 2-0 advantage. Cinnaminson won the first meeting back in 1975. The Pirates won last year’s contest 25-22.
