How They Got Here
Cinnaminson advanced to the second round of the tournament with a 95-75 victory over #8 Brick Memorial (5-2-2) in the first round on Monday night at the BCC pool in Pemberton.
It was the first time in program history that the Pirates hosted a playoff meet.
Brian Finnan won two individual events (200 IM and 100 Breaststroke) and anchored the 200 freestyle relay team that won with a time of 1:39.84.
Ben Kern won the 100 Freestyle and Lily Black took home first in the 500 Freestyle to pace the Pirates.
Cinnaminson has now won two straight meets, including their final regular season meet of the season against Delran.
Jackson Memorial had a bye in the first round of the tournament so this will be their first meet since competing in the Shore Conference Championship Meet at the end of January.
The Jaguars took down some tough Shore Conference opponents during the regular season, including Toms River East and Brick Township.
At the Shore Conference Championship Meet, the Jaguars finished 15th as a team with 54 points. Jackson Memorial did not win any events at the meet and had just one top five finish (5th place 200 yard medley relay 1:46.66).
Earlier in the month of January the Jaguars took part in the Ocean County Meet, finishing third as a team with 219 points. The Jaguars did not have any first place finishers in this meet either.
Cinn City Sports will have coverage of this second round meet between Cinnaminson and Jackson Memorial beginning at 3:30pm.
