The Pirates Athletes of the Week for the week ending April 24 is here. See who takes home the honors this week for all nine varsity programs.
Baseball: In a 3-1 week, the honor goes to Craig Horsley. Horsley, a freshman, picked up his first varsity win on the mound in his first varsity start. The frosh threw against Florence on Tuesday as the Pirates secured a 16-4 victory. Horsley went four innings in a five-inning game (mercy rule) for the win. He struck out three and walked four. He allowed all four runs.
Boy’s Lacrosse: Cinnaminson went 1-2 this week, securing the program’s first win of the year against Williamstown. The honor this week goes to Tyler Simcoe. Simcoe, a senior, scored the Pirates first goal in the win over Williamstown on senior night.
Boy’s Tennis: The honor this week goes to second singles Eddie Runquist. Runquist went 2-0 in match play this week and advanced to the semifinals of the Burlington County Open at Veterans Park in Hamilton on Tuesday. Runquist lost to Moorestown in the semifinals by scores of 6-1 and 6-0.
Boy’s Track and Field: The boy’s track and field honor goes to three athletes this week. Mike Ungvarsky, Max Adams and Tom Long all picked up medals in the 4×800 and the distance medley relay at the Bridgeton Relays on Saturday morning at Bridgeton High School.
Boy’s Volleyball: What a week it was for boy’s volleyball. The Pirates extended their win streak to a season-high nine matches before suffering a fifth loss on the year. Cinnaminson is now 10-5 on the year. The honor this week goes to Ryan Coslove. Coslove had a breakout match against Northern Burlington, picking up 3 service points and 10 assists in the 2-0 win.

Benites, Blamon and O’Malley all won two events apiece against Bordentown. Benites came in first in the 400IH and the 400. O’Malley came in first in the high jump and the long jump. Blamon won the shot put and the triple jump.
Golf: The Pirates golf team went 3-0 this week and finished fifth at the BC Open. Cinnaminson is now 6-0 on the year. The honor this week goes to sophomore Jake Weick. Weick competed in his first varsity match on Wednesday against Pemberton due to the Pirates missing two golfers from the top six. Weick shot a 42 in the win.
Softball: The Pirates went 2-1 this week with wins over Maple Shade and Florence and a loss to Delran in Patriot play. The loss came on senior night at Wood Park by a 4-3 score.
