This is our second to last Pirates Athletes of the Week for the spring 2015 season and it features just three programs from which to pick athletes for the honors.

We will begin with baseball, which fell to Robbinsville 4-0 on Tuesday in the Central, Group 2 semi-final game. This is an easy one to pick, as we honor all 10 of the seniors on this squad: Jimmy Cicale, Adam Berenato, Travis Pewor, Eddie Gore, Nick Thevanayagam, Wil Robinson, Jimmy Dever, Ryan Hanratty, Wyatt Holl and Nick Holl.

Congrats on a stellar season and good luck in your next chapter!

The girl’s track and field athlete of the week goes to Fiona Flynn. Flynn finished 11th at the Group 2 Finals this weekend in the Long Jump with a jump of 15-07.25. Congrats on such a successful season!

Boy’s track and field also competed at the Group 2 Finals at South Plainfield this weekend, sending two athletes to the Meet of Champions this coming Wednesday.

The athletes of the week for boy’s track and field this week are Ryan Addlesberger and Tom Long. Addlesberger secured the Group 2 State title in shot put with a throw of 56-8 and finished fifth in the discus. He will compete in both events at the Meet of Champions on Wednesday.

Long finished fifth in the 800 Meter run with a PR of 1:55.49. He will also take part in the Meet of Champions this Wednesday at South Plainfield.

That does it for the Pirates Athletes of the Week for the week ending May 31. We will have one more edition of the Athletes of the Week next Sunday after the track and field Meet of Champions is held on Wednesday.

Thanks again for all of the support this season, our inaugural season of Cinn City Sports. I look forward to the fall season and what it has to offer.
