Game coverage today features Pirates baseball at Pennsauken as Cinnaminson looks to snap a three-game losing streak. Let’s take an in-depth look at today’s contest with our Gameday Focus.
When: Tuesday, May 17 at 3:45pm.
Where: Pennsauken High School.
Cinnaminson: 11-10
Pennsauken: 4-10
The Pirates are in the midst of a three-game skid that has dropped their record to 11-10 and dropped the Pirates in power points down to six in the South, Group 2 section.
Cinnaminson will learn its first round opponent and tournament seed on Thursday.
The Pirates opened last week with a 4-2 win over Riverside on Monday night at Memorial Park as the program honored its seniors.
The rest of the week was not as kind. Cinnaminson fell 6-1 to Delran for its first Patriot Division loss of the year (5-1), 10-0 to Haddon Township and ended the week with a Diamond Classic first round loss to Lenape 13-5.
Cinnaminson has two Patriot Division games left and both are on the road at Pemberton this Thursday and at Holy Cross next Wednesday.
Pennsauken comes into this game with a record of 4-10. Two of their four wins have come against Patriot Division teams. The Indians throttled Pemberton 22-12 in the second game of the season and took down Delran 3-2 two weeks later.
The Indians have lost eight of their last nine games. The lone win during that span came by a 10-1 score against Burlington Township.
Their other win this year came against Camden in the season opener.
Pennsauken has been shutout three times this season and has allowed double digits in runs four times.
These two teams last met in 2014 and the Indians picked up a 6-5 victory over the Pirates despite the Pirates scoring three runs in the top of the seventh to pull within one.
The last time Cinnaminson took down Pennsauken was towards the end of the 2013 regular season. The Pirates picked up a 7-4 win at home.
