How They Got Here

The fifth-seeded Pirates hosted #12 Cedar Creek on Tuesday looking to remain unbeaten at home this season. Cinnaminson picked up a 55-45 victory, their 19th of the year and 12th at home. Dating back to last season the Pirates are 14-0 at home.

Devon Taylor led the Pirates with 17 points, 11 from the charity stripe, while Will Cabbler poured in 13 and Pat McCarthy added 10 in the win.

The Pirates are now 6-1 in their last seven games with wins over Group 4 schools Montgomery and Rancocas Valley.

Despite a 16-11 lead after the first quarter against Cedar Creek, the Pirates were given a run for their money on Tuesday night. Cedar Creek had answers for everything the Pirates sent their way, going bucket-for-bucket until the fourth quarter.

Cinnaminson outscored Cedar Creek 21-11 in the fourth, with 11 of those points coming from free throws. The Pirates shot 18-of-26 for the game.

The 19 wins are the most for Cinnaminson since winning 21 games in 2010-2011. The Pirates are in the midst of a turnaround season after finishing 11-15 last year.

#4 Woodstown took down #13 Pennsauken Tech 58-47 on Tuesday night to open the South, Group 2 Tournament. The win was the 23rd of the season for the Wolverines, a program record.

Demetrius Hall led the Wolverines with 24 as Jawan Roane added 14. Six different Wolverines scored in the win over Pennsauken Tech.

The 2015-2016 season has been quite a turnaround from last year. The Wolverines won just 10 games, finishing 10-17. Woodstown opened the season 14-0 before losing its first game, 51-41 to Penns Grove.

Woodstown is in the midst of the best season in school history, breaking the program record for wins that was set in 1972 and winning a share of the Tri-County Diamond Division crown, the first division title for the program since 1972.

The last time the Wolverines advanced to the second round was in 2013-2014. They were eliminated by Medford Tech.

Last season the Wolverines lost in the first round of the South, Group 2 Tournament to Camden.
