Dean Jones

The first Alumni Profile this week features former boy’s volleyball player Dean Jones, who is enrolled at Stockton University. Dean is playing varsity club volleyball at Stockton. Here is our conversation:

Major: Business Management

Cinn City Sports: What do you want to do after graduation?

Jones: I am going to move out West and then figure it out from there.

CCS: Do you have a favorite class so far at Stockton?

Jones: I don’t have a favorite but I took a dance class and that was 100% my least favorite.

CCS: Most memorable moment from athletic career at CHS?

Jones: Beating Collingswood in our season opener after we were projected to lose.

CCS: What was your favorite class at CHS?

Jones: 12th period Literature with Ms. McCormick.

CCS: What or who got you interested in playing volleyball?

Jones: I tried out freshman year after I decided I was not about the golf life anymore. After tryouts, a senior at the time, Taylor Arcaini, really got me into volleyball and made the sport more fun so I stuck with it.

CCS: Did you play any other sports at CHS?

Jones: I played soccer all four years at CHS. I’m a JV legend.

CCS: What do you miss most about CHS?

Jones: I miss school lunch, no joke.

Favorite Movie: Mean Girls

Favorite Artist: Young Thug

Favorite TV Show: Spongebob Squarepants

CCS: What made you want to play position of setter?

Jones: The setter gets to be part of every single play. The setter is the most important part of a volleyball team. A strong setter allows easier hits and better plays.

Favorite Sports Team: Milwaukee Bucks

CCS: What do you like to do in your spare time?

Jones: I do coloring books and watch women’s basketball.

CCS: Most challenging class taken at CHS?

Jones: Algebra 2 for some reason.
