As the Top 5 series for the 2016 spring sports season at Cinnaminson High School winds down we bring you the Top 5 Golf Matches of 2016 on this beautiful Sunday.

The final two Top 5 countdowns will be softball on Monday and baseball on Tuesday. Then, on Wednesday, we will bring you the Top 10 Games of Spring 2016.

#5 Golf Completes Undefeated Season with Win Over Cross

For a second straight year the Pirates golf team enjoyed an undefeated season. The match that secured the undefeated year in 2016 came against rival Holy Cross on May 19. Cinnaminson took down the Lancers by 20 strokes, 163-183. Six golfers shot 50 or under on the par 42 Riverton Country Club course.

#4 Golf Finishes Second at BCSL Tourney

The golf team finished the 2016 campaign by competing at the BCSL Tourney at the Olde York Country Club on May 24. Cinnaminson finished the day in second place. Greg Shiffer led the way for the Pirates at the BCSL Tourney by shooting a 79.

#3 Pirates Take Down Burlington Township on the Road

In their first of two matches with Burlington Township in 2016 the Pirates took home a win via tiebreaker on the road. The Pirates and Falcons were tied after the top four scores were reported, which forced the teams to move to a fifth score. Nick Anninos finished with a 44 compared to a 46 from his opponent that gave the Pirates the win. The victory clinched a berth in sectionals.

#2 Pirates Finish Second at States

Cinnaminson competed at the Group 1 State tourney on May 23 and finished second behind North Warren. The Pirates advanced to the state tournament following a sectional title win earlier in the season, which you will definitely see on this list.

#1 Pirates Win Sectional Title

Cinnaminson won the Central-South Group 1 Sectional title in 2016 for the second time in three years. The Pirates picked up the sectional title with a team score of 317. The second place team, Gateway, finished with a team score of 342.Three golfers shot under 80 in very windy conditions that day. The sectional title win comes after the Pirates finished in second in 2015 by a single stroke.

He coached baseball for five years, three at his former high school (Holy Cross in Delran, NJ) and two at prominent Division III program Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. Jim earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and minor in Journalism from Rowan University in 2008. While in school he was the Assistant Sports Director at WGLS for two years and the Sports Director for one year. He also covered the football, baseball, softball and both basketball teams for the school newspaper 'The Whit.' He is the former Sports Editor for the Cinnaminson and Moorestown Patch websites.
