As we continue our look back at the 2015 spring season at Cinnaminson High School we move on in our new feature of the top wins/games for each varsity program. Today’s focus is the top 5 boy’s tennis wins of 2015. We will work backwards on our list from five to one.

5. Pirates Defeat Palmyra 4-1 on April 1

To open the 2015 regular season, the boy’s tennis team traveled a short distance to neighboring Palmyra. The Pirates would win their opening match by a score of 4-1. The Pirates won two of three singles events and both doubles events to secure their first victory of the new season.

4. Pirates Beat Northern Burlington 4-1 on April 13

In just their third match of the season due to weather, the Pirates took down the Greyhounds on the road by a score of 4-1. Cinnaminson won all three singles matches and one of two doubles matches to grab their second victory of the season. The win came after a loss to Rancocas Valley, 3-2, and two postponements due to inclement weather.

3. Pirates Defeat Middlesex 4-1 on May 8

In the opening round of the Central, Group 1 Tournament, the Pirates traveled to five-seed Middlesex and returned home victorious. The Pirates eliminated Middlesex from the tournament with a 4-1 victory, advancing to the second round to take on Florence, which would be the third time facing Florence in a matter of days.

2. Pirates Take Down Holy Cross 3-2 on May 13

In a match that tends to bring excitement each year, the Pirates hosted Holy Cross on May 13 and came away victorious by a score of 3-2. It was the Pirates final regular season win of 2015 as they prepared for the third round of the Central, Group 1 Tournament against one-seed Metuchen.

1. Pirates Drop Florence 5-0 on May 12

The number-one win of the season for the Pirates boy’s tennis team in 2015 was a 5-0 victory over Florence in the second round of the Central, Group 1 Tournament. This match comes in at number one because it could have easily been a loss for any other team. Having played Florence twice before in regular season matches in the previous week, including one match the day before the playoff match, the Pirates could have easily overlooked their opponent. They stay focused and absolutely dominated Florence to move to the third round of the tournament. The Pirates would fall to one-seed Metuchen by a score of 3-2 in the third round.

We continue this new feature on Thursday by taking a look at the top five wins of the 2015 season for the boy’s volleyball team.
