Top 5 Boy's Lacrosse

It was a tough year for the boy’s lacrosse team, but things are looking up for the young program, as you will see in our Top 5 Games.

Today we bring you the Top 5 Boy’s Lacrosse Games of 2016 as we continue our Top 5 series for the spring sports season.

Just a friendly reminder that the team did not have to win the game for it to appear in a Top 5 list.

#5 Pirates Fall to New Egypt 14-2

Despite the score, the Pirates play was much improved in this game when compared with their efforts the first time they played New Egypt. Cinnaminson played a strong first half of the game, limiting New Egypt to just seven goals and trailed 7-2 at the break. Prior to this game, the Pirates had won two of three games played, their first two wins of the year.

#4 Pirates Defeat Winslow 17-5

Cinnaminson, fresh off a 15-2 loss to Holy Cross, picked up its second win of the season when it traveled to Winslow. A 17-5 victory saw three Pirates score four goals apiece and two others score twice in the contest. The Pirates offense scored early and often to overwhelm Winslow for the victory.

#3 Pirates Defeat Hamilton West 16-1

The Pirates won their second to last game of the regular season when Hamilton West came to town in the middle of May. Again the offense exploded, this time for 16 goals as Zach Artur netted five and Tom Schlindwein netted four. All told, eight different players scored at least one goal in the win.

#2 Pirates Fall to Williamstown 7-6

In just their third game of the 2016 season the Pirates played one of their best games of the year. Cinnaminson traveled to Williamstown and dropped a 7-6 contest that was much closer than it looked. The Pirates trailed 7-3 heading into the fourth quarter and scored three times in an effort to tie the game, but could not get the equalizer into the net.

#1 Pirates Defeat Williamstown 4-3

Cinnaminson picked up its first win of the year on senior night for a second season in a row. The win also came against Williamstown both years. This season’s contest was a 4-3 victory for the Pirates. Cinnaminson led 4-2 late in the game, but had to hold off a comeback try by the Braves, who scored with 13 seconds left to make it a 4-3 game.
