We continue to take a look back at the fall 2015 sports season at Cinnaminson High School with the next edition of our Top 5 series. Today’s edition brings us the Top 5 Boy’s Cross Country Meets of 2015.
#5: Cinnaminson at Batch Meet – 9/22
Even though it was early in the season, just the second batch meet of the year, this was a big one for the Pirates. The boy’s cross country team took down Westampton Tech and Maple Shade to move to 6-1 on the year. The win over Maple Shade was an important one, by a single point 27-28. The win catapulted the Pirates towards a 12-3 season.
#4: Cinnaminson at Northern Burlington Batch Meet – 9/29
Despite going just 2-2 in this batch meet to move to 8-3 on the year, the Pirates two victories were over rival Delran and neighbor Palmyra. The losses came against powerhouses Rancocas Valley and host Northern Burlington. Those two losses would be the final two of the batch meet season for the boy’s cross country squad.
#3: Cinnaminson at New Egypt – 10/6
The Pirates secured the Patriot Division title with this meet victory, going a perfect 5-0 in the division. It also marked the end of their regular season with a 12-3 record. Mike Ungvarsky finished first overall at the meet with Justin Arnold in third and Max Adams in fourth. The wins came against Holy Cross, Pemberton and Bordentown.
#2: Cinnaminson at BC Open – 10/16
At the BC Open, the Pirates finished 6th as a team with Ungvarsky finishing second overall. Arnold finished the race at 13th overall to aid in the Pirates top 10 finish. This meet was just a precursor for what the Pirates would accomplish at the BCSL Open on October 21.
#1: Cinnaminson at BCSL Open – 10/21
At the BCSL Open, the Pirates took no prisoners, winning the Patriot Division meet in a much-anticipated rematch with rival Maple Shade. The Pirates took down the Wildcats by a mere two points. Ungvarsky, Arnold and Adams were all named to the Patriot Division First Team following the meet. Six Pirates runners finished in the top 25 at the meet.
On Tuesday we will have the Top 5 Girl’s Cross Country Meets of 2015.
