Pirates Daily Recap: Wrestling Rolls; Winter Track Dominates

The Pirates wrestling squad rolled to its 10th win of the year tonight as winter track dominated at an SJTCA meet in Toms River.

Wrestling 63, Westampton Tech 3

The wrestling squad picked up a 63-3 win at home over Westampton Tech on Wednesday night.

The Pirates are now 10-3 overall and 4-0 in the Patriot. They can win the division title with a victory over Delran on February 1.

Shaun Davilla returned to the mat for his first bout of the season to help the Pirates to victory on Wednesday.

Winter Track at SJTCA Meet

The winter track team traveled to Toms River tonight to take part in an SJTCA meet.

Mike Ungvarsky set a PR of 4:26.19 in the indoor 1600, placing third at the meet and number one in New Jersey, Group 2.

Madison Edwards set a PR of 5:27.74 for 4th overall and number six in New Jersey, Group 2 in the 1600 indoor.

Prisca Blamon placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 35’5.25″.

Taylor Clark won the pole vault at 9-6.

Christian Neuman won the pole vault at 13-0.

Haley Adams finished third in the 800 meter dash with a time of 2:26.35 and is number four in New Jersey, Group 2.

Max Adams finished second in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:03.05 and is number one in South Jersey, Group 2.

Swimming 62, Rancocas Valley 108

The swim team fell to Rancocas Valley 108-62 tonight to drop to 6-4 on the season.

The Pirates won two events as Brendan McDevitt took home first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:01.74 and the quartet of Lily Black, Ryan Kay, Andrew Sandeen and Jack Lilley won the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:38.12.
