Pirates Daily Recap: Wrestling Goes 2-1 at Quad; Girl’s Bowling at Sectionals


The wrestling team went 2-1 at a quad hosted by Shawnee today, while the girl’s bowling team competed in the South Jersey Sectional.

Here is our recap of varsity sports at Cinnaminson High School for Saturday, February 4, 2017.

Wrestling 50, Absegami 9

Wrestling took down Absegami 50-9 on Saturday in one of three matches at a quad hosted by Shawnee.

Keith Swartley picked up forfeit victory, one of three wins on the day for the heavyweight. His career wins total is now 113.

Ryan Teague picked up a 13-0 major victory, while Shaun Davilla, Andrew Halecki, Mike Florkowski and Austin Gabay all picked up pins.

Wrestling 52, Shawnee 21

The Pirates also took down host Shawnee 52-21 on Saturday.

Swartley, Alex Marter, Khalid Zeidieh and Teague all won via pin in this match.

Wrestling 18, Collingswood 42

The Pirates lone loss on the day came against Collingswood, which is the #1 seed in the South, Group 2 bracket this year as the defending champion.

With the loss, the Pirates are now 14-6 on the season.

Swartley picked up win number three on the day with a 2-0 decision at 285.

Marter recorded the only pin of the match against the Panthers for the Pirates.

Teague opened the match at 145 with a 1-0 decision.

Jahmil Williams closed the match at 138 with a 3-1 decision.

Girl’s Bowling at South Jersey Sectional

The girl’s bowling team competed at the South Jersey Sectional on Saturday.

The Pirates did not place in the top five of the competition.

Cinnaminson set down a total of 1,799 pins.

Rosanna Mendez had the high game for the Pirates at 158, while Kate Mattern had the high series at 405.
