Pirates Daily Recap: Swimming Advances to Semis; Winter Track at Sectionals

The Pirates swim team picked up a quarterfinals win today over Steinert while winter track took competed at the South, Group 2 sectionals.

Swimming 114, Steinert 56

In the quarterfinals of the Central, Group 2 bracket the #3 Pirates took down #6 Steinert 114-56 today.

The Pirates had a bye in the first round of the tourney.

Cinnaminson lost just three events on the day.

Avery Mancine won two individual events (200 IM and 200 Free).

Kevin Conville (50 Free), Robert Sandeen (100 Butterfly) and Jack Lilley (100 Backstroke) all won individual events.

The #3 Pirates advance to the semifinals to take on #2 Moorestown on Monday.

Winter Track Competes at South, Group 2 Sectional

The winter track team competed at the South, Group 2 sectional on Friday night at the Bennett Center.

The girl’s team finished 6th with 19 points.

The boy’s team finished tied for first with Haddonfield at 65 points to take home the first indoor sectional title in school history.

Prisca Blamon took home an individual sectional championship with a throw of 37′ in the shot put, a school record.

Kamron Kobolak won the boy’s shot put for a sectional title.

Christian Neuman took home a sectional title in the pole vault.

Jim is the creator and editor of Cinn City Sports. He also created At the Dish, Life With Tony and Enzo and is the owner of JAVFreelancing. He coached baseball for five years, three at his former high school (Holy Cross in Delran, NJ) and two at prominent Division III program Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. He has worked for the Courier-Post in Cherry Hill, NJ; Metro Networks in Bala Cynwyd, PA; and was the play-by-play announcer for the Camden Riversharks of the Independent Atlantic League of Professional Baseball for two seasons (2007-2008) on Rowan Radio 89.7 WGLS-FM, the student-run radio station at Rowan University. Jim earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and minor in Journalism from Rowan University in 2008. While in school he was the Assistant Sports Director at WGLS for two years and the Sports Director for one year. He also covered the football, baseball, softball and both basketball teams for the school newspaper 'The Whit.' He is the former Sports Editor for the Cinnaminson and Moorestown Patch websites.
