Pirates Daily Recap: Bowling Sweeps; Winter Track at SJTCA

The bowling team swept Delran today, while the winter track team competed at another SJTCA Meet in Toms River at the Bennett Center.

Boy’s Bowling 3, Delran 1

The boy’s bowling team took down Delran 3-1 on Monday to move to 14-2-0 on the year.

The win avenged a 3-1 loss to the Bears earlier this season.

Sean Harris had the high game (222) and high series (579) to pace the Pirates.

The victory moved the Pirates Freedom record to 8-1 and clinched the division title for Cinnaminson.

Girl’s Bowling 4, Delran 0

The girl’s bowling team picked up a 4-0 win over Delran via forfeit today, their second this season.

The girl’s bowling team is now 4-11-1.

Winter Track at SJTCA Meet

The winter track team competed at another SJTCA meet in Toms River at the Bennett Center tonight.

Prisca Blamon took second in the shot put with a school record of 36’8″.

Max Adams finished 6th in the 1600 with a time of 4:37.61.

Mike Ungvarsky finished 3rd in the 800 in 2:04.30. Colin Vogel ran a 2:13.37 PR for 26th.

Pat Bearint took 2nd in the high jump at 6 feet.

Kamron Kobolak took 2nd (49’10.25″) in the shot put and Frankie Stepnowski (48’04.00″) finished 3rd.

Justin Arnold ran a 20 second indoor PR for 6th in the 3200 at 10:06.69.

He coached baseball for five years, three at his former high school (Holy Cross in Delran, NJ) and two at prominent Division III program Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. He has worked for the Courier-Post in Cherry Hill, NJ; Metro Networks in Bala Cynwyd, PA; and was the play-by-play announcer for the Camden Riversharks of the Independent Atlantic League of Professional Baseball for two seasons (2007-2008) on Rowan Radio 89.7 WGLS-FM, the student-run radio station at Rowan University. Jim earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and minor in Journalism from Rowan University in 2008. While in school he was the Assistant Sports Director at WGLS for two years and the Sports Director for one year. He also covered the football, baseball, softball and both basketball teams for the school newspaper 'The Whit.' He is the former Sports Editor for the Cinnaminson and Moorestown Patch websites.
