Pirates Daily Recap: Basketball Sweeps, Bowling Splits


Our first Pirates Daily Recap has basketball sweeping Northern Burlington and bowling splitting with Maple Shade on Tuesday night.

We are trying something new here at Cinn City News; a daily recap of the sports action at Cinnaminson High School.

Boy’s Basketball 71, Northern Burlington 65

The boy’s basketball team downed Northern Burlington 71-65 at home tonight to move to 7-9 overall and 3-5 in the division.

Craig Turner paced the Pirates with 27 points, nine from beyond the arc. John Meekins and Conor Bresnahan each had 11 in the victory.

JP Rickus followed with nine.

The win snapped a two-game skid for the Pirates and was their second of the year over the Greyhounds.

Girl’s Basketball 60, Northern Burlington 40

The girl’s basketball team picked up a 60-40 victory on the road against Northern Burlington tonight to move to 11-4 overall and 3-1 in the division.

Fiona Flynn had a game-high 19 points, while Anne O’Malley (14) and Maddie Ogden (13) both scored in double figures.

This was the second win of the year for Cinnaminson against the Greyhounds.

Boy’s Bowling 3, Maple Shade 1

The boy’s bowling team moved to 13-2-0 on the season with a 3-1 victory over Maple Shade today.

Eddie Runquist led the Pirates with a 628 high series, while Dillon Siddiqi picked up the high game of 238.

Girl’s Bowling 0, Maple Shade 4

The girl’s bowling team dropped a 4-0 match to Maple Shade today to fall to 3-11-1 on the season.

Audrey Bishop led the way for the Pirates with a high series of 423 and a high game of 145.

He coached baseball for five years, three at his former high school (Holy Cross in Delran, NJ) and two at prominent Division III program Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. He has worked for the Courier-Post in Cherry Hill, NJ; Metro Networks in Bala Cynwyd, PA; and was the play-by-play announcer for the Camden Riversharks of the Independent Atlantic League of Professional Baseball for two seasons (2007-2008) on Rowan Radio 89.7 WGLS-FM, the student-run radio station at Rowan University. Jim earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and minor in Journalism from Rowan University in 2008. While in school he was the Assistant Sports Director at WGLS for two years and the Sports Director for one year. He also covered the football, baseball, softball and both basketball teams for the school newspaper 'The Whit.' He is the former Sports Editor for the Cinnaminson and Moorestown Patch websites.
