Pirates Daily Recap: Basketball Splits; Bowling Competes at BCSL


The basketball teams split Thursday night as the bowling teams competed at the BCSL tournament at Laurel Lanes in Maple Shade.

Boy’s Basketball 49, Maple Shade 50

The Pirates dropped a 50-49 non-conference road contest at Maple Shade Thursday night.

Cinnaminson is now 8-12 on the season.

The Wildcats connected on the game-winning basket with under 30 seconds to play.

Conor Bresnahan led Cinnaminson with 16 points. Craig Turner and John Meekins also posted double digits with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Cinnaminson hosts rival Delran Friday night at 5:30pm for a Patriot Division contest.

Girl’s Basketball 41, Holy Cross 30

The girl’s basketball team downed Holy Cross Thursday night 41-30, their second win against the rival Lancers this season, both by 11 points.

With the win the Pirates move to 14-5.

The Pirates led the Lancers 24-16 at the half.

Cinnaminson outscored Holy Cross 13-7 to pull away for the victory.

Anne O’Malley led all scorers with 10 points as Fiona Flynn contributed 9.

Angela Oliveira and Maddie Figiel each netted six in the win.

The Pirates visit Delran Friday night at 6:15pm for a Patriot tilt.

Bowling at BCSL

The boy’s and girl’s bowling teams competed at the BCSL Tournament on Thursday at Laurel Lanes in Maple Shade.

Neither team placed in the competition.

He coached baseball for five years, three at his former high school (Holy Cross in Delran, NJ) and two at prominent Division III program Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. He has worked for the Courier-Post in Cherry Hill, NJ; Metro Networks in Bala Cynwyd, PA; and was the play-by-play announcer for the Camden Riversharks of the Independent Atlantic League of Professional Baseball for two seasons (2007-2008) on Rowan Radio 89.7 WGLS-FM, the student-run radio station at Rowan University. Jim earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and minor in Journalism from Rowan University in 2008. While in school he was the Assistant Sports Director at WGLS for two years and the Sports Director for one year. He also covered the football, baseball, softball and both basketball teams for the school newspaper 'The Whit.' He is the former Sports Editor for the Cinnaminson and Moorestown Patch websites.
