The Pirates Athletes of the Week have arrived for the week ending January 29. See who takes home the honors this week at Cinnaminson High School.

Bowling: The boy’s bowling team went 1-0 this week with a 3-1 victory over Maple Shade. The boy’s bowling athlete of the week goes to Eddie Runquist. Runquist led the squad with a high series of 628 in the win. Girl’s bowling lost its only match of the week, 4-0 to Maple Shade. Audrey Bishop takes home the girl’s bowling athlete of the week after posting the high series (423) and high game (145).

Boy’s Basketball: The boy’s basketball team went 2-1 this week to move to 8-10 on the year. Wins came against Northern Burlington and Holy Cross, while the lone loss came against Washington Township on Saturday. The boy’s basketball athlete of the week goes to Craig Turner. Turner led the Pirates in scoring in all three games with 27, 22 and 26.

Girl’s Basketball: The girl’s basketball team went 2-1 this week to move to 12-5 on the season. The two wins came against Northern Burlington and Pennsauken, while the loss came against Pemberton. The girl’s basketball athlete of the week goes to Fiona Flynn. Flynn led the Pirates in scoring in all three games with 19, 17 and 18.

Swimming: The swim team went 0-1 this week to fall to 6-4 on the season. Their lone loss came against Rancocas Valley. The Pirates also competed at the SJISA on Saturday. The swimming athlete of the week goes to Brendan McDevitt. McDevitt won the only individual event against RV as he took home first in the 100 backstroke.

Winter Track: The winter track team competed at an SJTCA meet and the Franklin & Marshall Invitational this week. The winter track athlete of the week is a dual award, going to Taylor Clark and Christian Neuman for both winning the pole vault at the SJTCA meet.

Wrestling: The wrestling team went 2-2 this week to move their record to 11-5. Wins came against BCIT Westampton and Pennsauken, while losses came against Northern Burlington and Haddonfield. The wrestling athlete of the week goes to Ryan Teague. Teague went 4-0 this week with two technical falls, a major decision and a pin while leading 13-0.

He coached baseball for five years, three at his former high school (Holy Cross in Delran, NJ) and two at prominent Division III program Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. He has worked for the Courier-Post in Cherry Hill, NJ; Metro Networks in Bala Cynwyd, PA; and was the play-by-play announcer for the Camden Riversharks of the Independent Atlantic League of Professional Baseball for two seasons (2007-2008) on Rowan Radio 89.7 WGLS-FM, the student-run radio station at Rowan University. Jim earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and minor in Journalism from Rowan University in 2008. While in school he was the Assistant Sports Director at WGLS for two years and the Sports Director for one year. He also covered the football, baseball, softball and both basketball teams for the school newspaper 'The Whit.' He is the former Sports Editor for the Cinnaminson and Moorestown Patch websites.
