The Pirates Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 26 have arrived. See who takes home the honors this week at Cinnaminson High School.

Boy’s Basketball: The boy’s basketball team finished the regular season this past week with losses to Pemberton and Rancocas Valley. The Pirates are 9-17 and open the playoffs Monday at home against Lower Cape May at 7pm. The boy’s basketball athlete of the week goes to Chad Howard. Howard had 15 points across the two games.

Girl’s Basketball: The girl’s basketball team played just once this week, taking down Haddon Township 39-35. The Pirates are now 19-7 and open the playoffs at home Monday against Oakcrest at 5pm. The girl’s basketball athlete of the week goes to Kelly Kane. Kane hit a big three-pointer late in the game to extend the Pirates lead to seven. She finished with seven points and was strong on defense.

Winter Track: The winter track team competed on Saturday and Sunday at the Meet of Champions in Toms River. The athletes of the week for winter track are Mateus Medeiros and Madison Edwards. Medeiros threw a season high 50’9″ and Edwards ran 5:29 in the 1600.

Wrestling: The wrestling team competed at the Region 7 tournament this week, sending seven wrestlers. Shaun Davilla placed third at 182 pounds to advance to states. Keith Swartley won his third region title to advance to states. Swartley takes home the athlete of the week for wrestling after setting the new career wins record for the program at CHS. He broke the record Friday night with his 120th win.
