Gameday Focus: Wrestling versus Moorestown

Moorestown wrestling preview, quad match

The wrestling team hosts Moorestown tonight for their first dual match of the 2016-2017 season. Here is our preview of the match.

When: Wednesday December 21 at 5pm

Where: Cinnaminson High School

Pirates Open Match Season

This will be the first match of the season for the Pirates wrestling squad, which competed in the Nottingham Tournament last weekend.

Cinnaminson finished third as a team and had three wrestlers win their weight brackets.

Jahmil Williams took home a title at 138 pounds, Ryan Teague at 145 pounds and Keith Swartley at 285 pounds.

Tonight’s contest is slated to open with the heavyweight bout.

Quakers 0-1

Moorestown has already opened its match season and it wasn’t pretty.

The Quakers lost their opener to Clearview 55-9 on Monday night.

Moorestown had just three victories in the match as JT Lumley won at 120 pounds, Christopher Tenenbaum won at 145 pounds and Nate Dalmass won at 170 pounds.

Clearview pinned Moorestown six times in the blowout victory.

Head to Head

These programs haven’t met since the 2012-2013 season.

Cinnaminson came away with a 35-21 victory.
