Gameday Focus: Week Six Football at Collingswood

Week six of the Pirates football season features an away game at Collingswood. Here is an in-depth look at the contest with our Gameday Focus.

Pirates 5-0

Cinnaminson comes into tonight’s meeting with Collingswood at 5-0.

The Pirates have recorded three shutouts and outscored opponents by an average of 32 points per game.

Cinnaminson is fresh off a 38-0 win over Liberty Division opponent Robbinsville last Friday.

All three of the Pirates shutouts have come against divisional opponents this season. The other two came against Willingboro and Holy Cross.

Through five games, the Pirates have allowed a total of 32 points.

Rashad Raymond leads the rushing attack with seven scores on the ground this year. Shaun Davilla has five rushing touchdowns.

Cinnaminson is averaging 38.4 points per game coming into tonight’s contest.

The Pirates scored a season high 54 points in a 54-14 win over Sterling.

Cinnaminson allowed a season high 18 points in a 51-18 win over Glassboro.

The Pirates have scored 22 or more points in all five games this season and 50 or more twice.

Panthers 3-1

Collingswood is also on a roll coming into tonight’s WJFL contest, having won three in a row.

The Panthers opened the season with a 35-7 loss to Haddonfield, but has since reeled off three straight wins.

Collingswood has beaten Delran, Buena and Audubon by a combined score of 95-7 with two shutouts.

The Panthers boast an impressive ground attack, much like the Pirates.

Collingswood has three running backs that have scored two or more touchdowns this season.

Michael Taulane leads the team with five scores on the ground. Michael Jenkins and Zach Irwin have two apiece.

The Panthers are averaging 25.5 points per game and allowing only 10.5 per game.

Collingswood put up a season high 38 points in a 38-7 win over Delran.

The Panthers allowed a season high 35 points in the opening night loss to Haddonfield.

Head to Head

These two programs have not met since 2010.

Collingswood won that meeting 34-7. It was an NJSIAA Consolation Game.

The only other meeting between the two teams came in 2006, also an NJSIAA Consolation Game and a Panthers victory.
