#5 Pirates 6-2

Cinnaminson got back in the win column last Friday night with a 49-12 thumping of Liberty Division rival Bordentown.

The win snapped a brief, two-game skid for the Pirates.

Those losses came against Collingswood 12-8 and West Deptford 14-6.

The Pirates offense was on full display Friday night as senior Andrew Goshine scored on runs of four and 40 yards.

He also returned an interception 20 yards for a score.

Senior Frankie Stepnowski scored on runs of 11 and 25 yards and picked off a Bordentown pass.

Senior Dylan Thevanayagam scored the first touchdown of the game on a 25-yard run.

The other score of the night was a 28-yard interception return by junior Gunner Peterson.

Cinnaminson has recorded three shutouts this season, all against Liberty opponents.

The Pirates defense has allowed just 8.75 points per game, while the offense has averaged just under 32 points per game.

Cinnaminson fell to Buena in the first round of the South, Group 2 playoffs last season.

The Pirates last advanced to the second round of the playoffs in 2014.

#4 Panthers 6-2

Collingswood comes into tonight’s contest following a loss to division rival West Deptford, the #1 seed in the South, Group 2 bracket.

The Panthers fell to the Eagles 28-14 and it was their first loss since falling to Haddonfield 35-7 in the season opener.

Haddonfield is the #6 seed in the bracket.

Collingswood also has three shutouts this year on defense and has a record of 3-2 against teams in the playoff bracket.

The Panthers twice snapped five-game win streaks of their opponents this season.

The first came against the Pirates and the second came against Willingboro, the #3 seed in the bracket.

Collingswood has allowed an average of 12.25 points per game and has scored an average of 23.5 points per game.

Collingswood lost to eventual South, Group 2 champion Cedar Creek in the first round of the playoffs last year.

The Panthers are also looking to make a trip to the second round of the playoffs for the first time since 2014.

Head to Head

This is just the fourth time that these two programs will meet and the second this season.

A 12-8 loss for the Pirates earlier this season gave Collingswood a 3-0 record in the all-time series.

The first two meetings came in NJSIAA consolation games in 2006 and 2010.
